why not just make a bubble from balsa wood and then make some fiberglass moldings of the bubble. You can then cut a hole in the liner to clear the hinge and use the bubble to cover the hole.

That is awesome! I had thoughts on doing something like this on the F14 for the auto spoiler deploy on landing. Its nice to see that its possible and just another reason for me to switch to Jeti.
