Hi Matt,
I hear you. I've found by far most spectators focus on the simple "unexpected" details. Rear view mirrors on my Pfalz DIII, Compass mounted on the lower wing on my Halbi DIII, the...

Hi Matt - A few thoughts on the Wickelrumpf method:

The fuse on my DIIIa was heavier than I would have liked but that was more do to method than design and I would do somethings differently. I...

Hi Matt,
I'd need to check the plans or the airplane to remember what I did with the stab. I think it was symmetrical but will let you know. At 1/4 scale if is difficult if not impossible to hide...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Thanks Gabriel, very interesting. I understand the cloth was applied to the shells while still separate? Do we know if additional cloth was applied to the joint, at the parting line, after the...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Very nice indeed. I like the selective use of steel and carbon in the UC - shear strength where you need it, bending strength elsewhere! The paper also looks good. ...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Henner she's a beauty! Congratulations! I think electric is perfect for this project because the nose is clean and scale, which is so much a part of the look of the DIII. I've been thinking...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Is the photo a picture of a mold for laminating the fuselage, or is it the fuselage itself?

Thanks for the references to Kingsbury - visited the website; looks like a great place.

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

No problem. Still, I'd like to wait until I'm sure it flies!! I'll start a DXV thread so you get a sense of what I'm working on - hopefully I'll get some constructive criticism (no doubt knowing...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Hi Erich,

I know the feeling when life crowds out a great hobby[&o] Yes they're drawn 2D in CADKEY. I can export DWG, DXF and PDF. Fuselage is 1/2 built so it will probably be early next year...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

I know this is a DIII thread, but thought all you Pfalzianados would like to know I have a Pfalz DXV well underway. I've put a lot more time into the plans on this model (unlike the DIIIa). After...

Thanks - yes Dan and I correspond. Spectacular builder. The circumstances of the DIIIa loss were really unfortunate. I think there are some pics of it on Glenn Torrences website. It looked great...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Hi Mode One - I drew the plans in CAD. Unfortunately a computer crash consumed the file. All I had plotted on paper to build from was a set of templates and views. I scaled the details from the...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Sorry not much news on the Pfalz - I've been rushing to finish my J10. But I did make nose weights. Rather than swinging a steel spinner back plate, I made an insert for the nose ring, and a...
