RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Maybe this has been mentioned already; to find the CG of a Bipe you measure the horizontal distance of the Trailing edge of the lower wing to the Leading edge of the top wing and then start at...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Seth, you almost always need to prime gas engines when they are cold. After they have been run and are warm they usually start with out a prime. The choke is for priming the engine, if you have...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

That little tube from the carb to the crank case is probably your crankcase pressure/vent line. The pressure pulses the pump diaphragm on the carb with each engine stroke.

try turning both...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Seth how about changing the braided cable to braied cable that is plastic covered? Proctor sells some of this I believe. OR change the pully so the diameter is larger relieving some of the...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

I would guess that the shoulder straps go through the metal look on the lap belt and then that loop goes through the other lap belt. Every thing is secured via that loop.

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Normally 45 degrees gives the most strengh since both angles are equally sharing the load. I can't say as to the practice of the Full scale construction. Although I do have the Phalz bood I don't...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Seth the SE5a's flight envelope is scale. She flies just like the full scale plane.
The 300 V is mounted inverted in the Albi and it has a shorter profile than the older Enya 240 V. So it fits...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

I have a Laser 300 V twin for the Proctor Albatross. It's a 50cc engine but who cares? I can fly throttled back. The Albi will most likely? weigh more than your plane.. but maybe not much more. I...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

Hey.. I don't smell to bad lol but I did manage to spend nearly 3 years on my WWI project. It was a labor of love.. most of the time. I'm very happy with the results and I even get to fly it.....

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

I don't know what the Proctor albi's are weighing but I do know that the original used an Enya v240 twin inverted. They are no longer available but the Laser 300 is and its a better choice. Its more...

RE: Pfalz DIII resources -- Photos, Drawings, Plans, etc.

I'm going to be sacrilegious here and suggest that the best way to get that fuse shape is to cut it out of foam and glass and resin it. It wouldn't be the least bit authentic in construction...
