You can also just lay the fabric on the mold and then cut the finished thing in 2 with a dremel. One band of fiberglass to reinforce the joint and voila'

Just to play devil's advocate here:
the SM f16 uses a plywood-carbon-plywood sandwich former to join the 2 fairly short carbon cylinders sticking out of the 2 wing halves and support all wing loads....
