RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Dom,
Perhaps another way would be to leave the door position as is and move your air cylinder a bit farther out.

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Dom,
The F-4 turned out great! I've really enjoyed following this one.
For the inner door, could you perhaps add a small 90-deg bellcrank so you can change the leverage angle without removing...

Looks like you're making good progress. I'm still very interested in this aircraft and am enjoying your thread.

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Nice progress. How does the fin mount to the fuse? I assume some bolts up through the fuse into the base of the fin?
Btw, my Skymaster F-86 had an identical issue with the balance tabs on the...

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Dom, nice progress. Once again, thanks for sharing! Nice solution to the door attachment too. Funny how something so simple can take so long to achieve. Bet the other side takes a fraction of the...

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Enjoying your progress Dom, thanks for sharing. What do you think your AUW dry weight will be? Looks like you'll have ample power.
I see your retract issues. Didn't SM set up the gear and doors...

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

The two stands shown above are for my Skymaster F-86 and Avonds F-104.

The other thing I did was replace the pin that Rigid provides to allow collapse of the table top for storage with bolts...

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Dom, here's a couple quick pics (it was a little dark this morning, but you get the idea). I started with a Rigid portable work stand, <$30 from Home Depot.

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Thank Dom, also if you can include a couple pics of the internal engine area and how the wing mounts. Thanks
Any chance you'll have this (even just the fuse) at Hamburg next weekend for show and...

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom

Dom,
what is the weight of the airframe with retracts? Minus radio gear, tanks, tailpipe, motor, etc. Just the airframe and retracts?
Thanks,
