Hi Dom, your tube is the same length as mine but, mine will go into the wing panel almost 12" as there is no stop on the end of the fibreglass sleeve. Guess I didn't get that option! :(

I have the same problem on my small Skymaster Hawk. If you fully push the wing tube into 1 wing, it's actually 8" too short on the other one! You should check yours Dom while you're at it. That way...

His engine (JC Cheetah) is much smaller in both Diameter and length than the RX140 so, he has lots of clearance where you don't. I don't think I would raise the turbine as you'll end up creating down...
